The mantra “From Citizen to Senator” is my consistent reminder of who placed me in office.  I will never forget that the responsibility of this role is to represent you. This section is for me to stay connected and up to date with issues, concerns, or even good news that is taking place in your lives and the state of Arizona. I will address them here. Let’s talk.

Q: How do you think Technology will impact Arizona

A: Technological unemployment can cause short-term unemployment, or unemployment in certain job fields (typically low-wage, low-skilled jobs), but technology can also provide an outlet for job creation in the fields of building machinery, coding, software development, maintenance, etc. Since technology has become an integral part of our lives and while some people fear it will replace job prospects, ultimately, we have an opportunity to redesign and reimagine how employment will look in the future. The new job market in Arizona will place a greater emphasis and demand on specialties in the areas of math, technology, engineering, science, healthcare, and social services. Understanding this, we must act quickly to ensure that our schools are adequately funded, the scope and sequence of the curriculum is empowered to cultivate young professionals, and a system of support is in place to aid current workers transitioning into a more work integrated technological world.

If we fail to adapt, or transition to late in Arizona, it will almost certainly lead to the socio-economical gap intensifying throughout our beloved state. As Senator, my aim will be to protect Arizona residents by ensuring educational budgets get replenished, opportunities remain abundant, and all are able to prosper socially and economically. To accomplish these endeavors, I will not only work with those in Washington, but with local and large business’s as they move towards integrating technology into their business models. My goal is to assist businesses as they adapt to the new market place and campaign of behalf of Arizona residents that jobs are created proportionately.
